Frequently Asked rental Questions:
When is the instrument due back? Your exact contract expiration date is located on your contract, or call us and we’ll look it up for you. School Year Rentals are due back by June 30. Summer Rentals are due back by August 31.
Am I renting or buying this instrument? You are renting an instrument that belongs to Radovich & Dean Music, Inc. We have two rental plans in which you can use a portion of your rental fees towards purchases. See our rental plans for details.
Can we buy it at the end of the year? With the Standard Rental Plan, you will receive your rental fee towards the purchase price of a new instrument. With the Premiere Rental Plan, you will receive your rental fee towards the purchase price of the instrument you are renting.
What is your refund and return policy? You may return your rental for a 100% refund within the first thirty (30) days from the start of the contract. There are no refunds after thirty days.
What happens if my child quits during the year? The instrument can be returned at any time, but there will be no refunds given after thirty (30) days.
What happens if it breaks? Bring it in right away. Don’t attempt to repair it yourself, or ask a teacher to. Repairs that go beyond Normal Wear and Tear are only covered with the purchase of the Extended Repair Coverage at the start of the rental term.
What is ERC? The Extended Repair Coverage is an optional service purchased at start of rental period, covering repairs that go beyond Normal Wear and Tear, and loss of the instrument due to fire or theft. ERC covers repairs such as, but not limited to soldering, dent removal, broken or bent keys or springs, surface or body cracks, bow or string replacement, instrument cases, and more.
What happens if it’s lost or stolen? The renter is responsible for the value of the instrument in the event of loss or theft unless the Extended Repair Coverage (ERC) was purchased at the start of the rental period. If ERC was purchased, Radovich & Dean Music will issue a replacement instrument with a police report documenting the incident.
What else do we need for it over the year? Each school district is different. Check with your music teacher for required books and extra supplies. Reed instruments such as clarinet, saxophone, oboe, and bassoon will require the purchase of additional reeds on a regular basis.
Why do you need a credit card on file? We only require a major Credit Card on file as Security in place of a Security Deposit.
What happens if we want to keep it over the summer? To renew your rental over the summer, let us know by June 30th to bill you for the summer rental. It’s a good idea to bring the instrument in for a brief check-up at the end of the school year to keep it playing its best.
