Radovich & Dean Music began in 1972 when Rudy Dean, a professional pianist in the Carmel area and David Radovich, a public school Band Director, decided to open a music store to serve the local community. They worked together in the business until 1993 when Rudy retired and moved away. Dave continues the business today along with his wife, Cindy, and help from their two children. Tiffany, an oboist, graduated from the Boston Conservatory with a degree in Oboe Performance and Music Education (now a District Manager for the French instrument company  Buffet-Crampon Woodwinds in Florida) and Kevin, who is an accomplished clarinetist and a Police Officer in the Town of Kent, NY. Since the beginning, R&D Music has always been closely connected to the public schools. As a former public school music teacher, David experienced first-hand the importance of being associated with a music dealer who understands public school music. As a result, Radovich & Dean Music provides rental band and orchestra instruments, printed music, accessories, supplies and a very active repair shop to address all of the schools needs.

With the recent addition of their local warehouse, Radovich & Dean is able to better supply the needs of its customers throughout the different times of the year when products are more in demand. In less than an hour, products can be restocked from the warehouse and the availability of choices i.e.. Brands, colors, size and quality has been greatly improved.

Radovich & Dean Music has always believed that anyone can sell musical instruments, but not everyone can actually teach you how to play them, not everyone can repair them and not everyone can recommend the appropriate accessories to help you develop skills on your chosen instrument. The repair department at R&D Music is comprised of professional players, as are the instructors. All of the salespeople play one or more instruments and are always prepared to offer professional advice.
